Origins

Born 31 December 1979 in Tungipara, Ripan Biswas is the eldest of two sons of Gayali Biswas and Usa Rani. Sport mattered to him before academics did, but a disciplined family life gave him values that stayed. A serious youthful mistake, leaving home and crossing into India without documents before returning a month later, changed him deeply. From that point, education became a chosen path rather than an obligation.

Sports & Science

After strong academic results and postgraduate study, Ripan worked as a teacher, trainer, and explorer, including three years at an international school. A scholarship then took him to Leipzig University, opening the European chapter of his sports education. He later earned a Master of Sports Science — Laurea Magistrale in Attività Fisica e Salute LM-67 — at the Università degli Studi di Roma Foro Italico, with Erasmus study at the University of Southern Denmark and German Sport University Cologne.

A Life Across Europe

Leipzig. Rome. Zurich. Odense. Cologne. Sardegna. Como. Ripan dreamed of seeing the world beyond the limits he had known, learning new languages and discovering cultures different from his own. Rome was difficult at first, but became seven formative years of rebuilding, coaching cricket, refereeing football, and collaborating with Juventus Soccer School. During his Master's period, frequent cricket coaching journeys between Rome and Zurich drew his attention to Lake Como.

Values & Vision

"Sports has enabled me for travelling from one place to another and find more people living around — a big world I'm living in, a lot I see to learn about, to implement and follow up. I always go through all those golden imaginations of old days behind me. I believe: I get as much as I do. It is a way of life." Since moving to Lake Como in 2014, Ripan's work has brought together sport, travel, culture, hospitality, entrepreneurship, and the art of connecting people to places.
